Global Tariff Adjustments MAY 2025 – Important Update!
Effective Date: May 5, 2025- and beyond
- In April, the U.S. Government released new tariffs on materials and goods imported into the United States. These tariffs included a universal tariff of 10% on most countries of the world and an incremental 125% tariff on China imports. When added to the 10% February and 10% March tariffs the new total tariff on China imports became 145%. These new tariffs and other tariff actions create new and significant unplanned costs for many companies. Similar to other multinational manufacturers, portions of Rockwell Automation’s product portfolio has had immediate and highly material impact at either a materials, subcomponent, finished good, and/or supply chain level.
- Rockwell Automation has been working diligently to mitigate, minimize, and absorb the impact of such tariffs and the efforts will continue throughout 2025. Unfortunately, given the immediacy, scope, and magnitude of these new tariffs, combined with the uncertain duration and potential expansion, we must now take immediate action to address this instant change in the business environment.
Effective May 18th 2025, Rockwell Automation will have a List Price adjustment on a subset of the Rockwell Automation portfolio. It is worthwhile to note that in the United States, approximately 45% of the product PGCs are affected, while a slight majority of PGCs at 55% are not impacted by these tariffs at all. In all other countries of the world, including South Africa, approximately 20% of the product PGCs are affected while a high majority of product PGCs at 80%, are not impacted by these tariffs at all.
If the U.S. Government removes, expands, or adjusts these tariffs, this List Price adjustment per product PGC group will adjust accordingly. As governments may enact and retract these tariffs over time, this list price adjustment is non-negotiable to minimise the increase and allow for ease of removal when needed.
